We celebrated our Christmas on the Winter Solstice this year. (Dave works all weekend, including Christmas Eve and I have to work Christmas Day, this was the only time it would really give us enough time to celebrate). Zoe took a late nap, so by the time she woke up, Daddy was home, presents were under the tree, stockings were filled and she had wonderful nap hair! She was so excited, mostly because she spotted the unicorn right away and went right to riding on it. Next, presents were opened one at a time with enough time in between to completely open and assemble the toys. We put together a little snack tray and munched all evening while opening and enjoying presents. It was a wonderful celebration - perfect, I'd say. By about 11pm, it was time to stop playing and go to bed... at least for Zoe. We picked up a little after the last present - but the living room was a disaster that needed picked up. One of the best parts of opening presents is the mess that's left behind. There are a ton more pictures in her photo album, as always.
