We celebrated Zoe's 2nd birthday on Saturday night. We invited Uncle Wayne and Aunt Sharon over for dinner, presents and cake. Before they arrived, I took her out for a quick photo shoot. She had just waken up from her nap, so she didn't have too many smiles yet.
While she slept, Dave and I created an iceberg cake, topped with the penguins from "Happy Feet". She was so surprised and loved the penguins! They were actual toys we found for her and decided they'd make the best cake decorations.Dave went and got her a big bouquet of balloons, including a Happy Feet balloon and a gigantic, purple "2".
We ordered pizza from a local place that has become her favorite, opened presents and then had cake.
Presents included some cute outfits, a stuffed penguin, duplo blocks, play dough fun bucket, piano/desk learning center, grandma-made blanket and pillow, baby doll, and the playhouse she got a few weeks ago.
She went to sleep around 10:30... without asking to nurse. This was the first time she had fallen asleep in my arms without asking to nurse. (edited on 7.5.07 to add: she was done from this point on.)
