Zoe Turns Two Years Old!

Two years ago, she came into our lives and changed us forever. The first year, we watched her hit milestones every week, it seemed. This past year, we've watched her become an individual and explore her surroundings and develop her not-so-little personality. She has proven that she's got her Daddy's curiosity about the world and love of people, music and performance and her Mommy's compassion, obsession of Little People's and patience (or lack there of).

Her favorite things right now are dancing like a penguin, caring for her baby dolls, playing with legos and play dough, being quizzed with her flashcards, swimming, reading books, playing with her Little People's, exploring the rocks outside, and playing with her friend, Ian ("EE-yon").

She wakes up around 5:30 when Mommy leaves for work and goes back to sleep for an hour or so with Daddy. She takes an afternoon nap for about 2 hours. She snacks on dried fruit and cereal during the day and eats small meals at mealtime. She drinks milk and watered-down juice from cups, she'll drink water from a water bottle or better yet, Mommy's cup. She knows how to get her own water out of the water cooler and does so whenever she wants a drink.

She's been sitting on her potty seat whenever we go in to use the bathroom - she's resistant to sit on it without her diaper, though. She knows when she needs changed and most of the time will come tell us "change". She also likes to help with the process by taking off her diaper.

To celebrate her actual birthday, we decided we'd make it a family celebration. I wanted to celebrate the day that she made us a complete family. We spent the day together, swimming and playing. We went out to "Firebirds" for dinner. This was the same place we went and celebrated our anniversary last October. Zoe loved the chips and lobster queso. She'd break up her chips into tiny pieces and dip each one of the tiny pieces into the queso. Afterwards, we took a few pictures outside and then headed to the Bear Factory where she picked out a bunny rabbit and got to help them fill her up with stuffing.

It was after 9pm when we got home, she was exhausted. I took the week off for vacation to be with her all week, I think it's wearing her out.

Here's to another fantastic year of being Zoe's Mommy!! *CHEERS*

Love,
Kim
