Surprisingly, it grew to 12 inches and only needed to be 8. It’s been 2 years since I last donated my hair and apparently I was a few months overdue this time.
I donate my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I chose this organization because they only make wigs for women going through chemotherapy. This is the reason I grow my hair, for women that are faced with the results of the horrible treatments for cancer. It takes EIGHT ponytails to make just one wig, so I know that my contribution is small... but it's something. And, when the results of the cut are this dramatic, I'm able to spread the word.
My hair looks so much darker now. I do not color it or use any sort of chemicals on it because chemically treated hair cannot be used to make the wigs.
I thought that this would be the last time I grew my hair out... but now I'm not so sure of that. I guess we'll wait and see.

That is so thoughtful and generous, You had beautiful hair, however you look very chic with the new "do" you probably feel lite headed.
I sure enjoy all the pics.
