I've never been to a Renaissance Festival and this year we finally went to the Arizona Festival that is held every year from February through March. It's HUGE! Zoe was pretty excited to see Princesses and Kings and Queens and all sorts of fun things.

Almost immediately upon entering, Zoe spotted a large Swan swing, insisting her and I needed to ride on it. I love swings. While Zoe and I stood in line, a little elf woman came up to Zoe and talked to her about magic and sprinkled pixie dust in her hair while she made a wish. We then got to ride the Swan swing. Two men pushed us higher and higher. Zoe and I made the same "oooh, weeee, fun" noises the whole time.

They had several rides for kids and most of them, the adults could join the kids. The fun part was, they were all hand powered by some of the "local" peasants. This little butterfly ride only required 2 men to spin the kids around. The pirate ride took 4 guys, it was a much larger ride. And of course, Dave is being silly and doing his best pirate impersonation. Zoe enjoyed it, too.

We stopped by a few of the shows to watch the dancers. Zoe really enjoyed dancing along and was fascinated by the belly dancers. We sat toward the back so she was able to stand and dance.

The day was a little shorter than I had expected. After a few hours, she was beat. She didn't sleep well last night and it was turning out to be a very hot day in the desert. She got to ride either on Daddy's shoulders or Mommy's hip on the way back out to the car.

We had a really great day today. She napped on the way home and was ready to play with her toys when we got home. After a few hours at the house, we headed out for dinner and later for ice cream.
