After setting up camp, Zoe and I headed to the lake for a cool down before we started on dinner. With the lake water almost a foot above regular levels, we found the entrance to not be very beach-like but kinda mucky. Shoot, Mommy hates mucky! Getting in wasn’t too hard, but getting out was icky.
Zoe was being goofy in the water, of course.
My new tent! A birthday gift from Dave - so excited to be able to go camping with my family!! Dave hung up our clothes line for our wet towels and suits.
The dogs were very happy to be outside, too. We had a beautiful camp site.
Anyone ready to roast some hotdogs for supper??
Dinner consisted of hot dogs, potato chips, watermelon and carrots.
Dessert, of course, was s’mores! Complete with Ghirardelli dark chocolate squares.
Zoe kept trying to go to sleep in the tent, but the noise of the crickets and nature kept her coming back out to the campfire. Both dogs were fast asleep. The below picture was taken at about 10:30, shortly before I caved and went to the tent to toss and turn all night so she could sleep. (note to self, get an air mattress before we go camping again!)
And here’s my view at 6:30am - Zoe gently snoring, sorta in her sleeping bag.
Dave is preparing the campfire for breakfast. I made pancakes and they were so yummy! You see bacon below, but after seeing the dogs reaction to the pancakes, we decided it would best be left to cook at home.
There you have it, Zoe’s first camping trip. We had fun and have good ideas for next time!

WOW, That is camping, The best we did was with a Motor home w/bathroom facilities,
Air mattress will do the trick, what a way to spend "Family Time" and great memories to share in years to come, we often talk of "Long Lake" and boating....
