Happy 6th Birthday, Bean!

Zoe asked for two things this year for her birthday. She wanted to go to the St. Louis Zoo and have a summer party with the Keller’s. So on Friday, we took her to the zoo with her friend Auwin (pictures to be uploaded soon), then on Saturday (her actual birthday), we invited the Keller’s over for supper and celebration.

We surprised Zoe with a sliding splash pool (thanks to Pa and Nancy) - this was a HUGE hit. The kids had so much fun! They had to take a short break while a quick storm moved through. Once the thunder stopped, they headed back out and played until their steaks were finished. Then, as requested, they ate outside on the patio. After their dinner, they headed right back to the sliding splash pool. The adults ate later, while the kids played in Zoe’s room.

Later in the evening, we celebrated and sang to Zoe, ate cake and ice cream and opened presents. Thanks to Uncle Robbie and Aunt Gloria, Grandpa and Grandma Burnette, Pa and Nancy, Aunt Lois and Al, and the Keller’s - she had presents to open. Dave and I decided that the zoo was her present from us (along with the loot she got from the zoo!) so I went shopping with some of her birthday money, as requested by her. She got several things she really wanted and had fun opening her gifts!
