Zoe was running a pretty high fever through the night Sunday night and barely slept, in fact, no one in the house really slept more than 20 minutes at a time. I ended up taking the day off on Monday to take care of her. She was really hot and uncomfortable. She was running around 103.5 and Children's Tylenol would bring it down to about 100. I pushed water and made soup for lunch. She laid in bed most of the day, took a couple naps, thankfully. She's got a productive cough, but nothing else that I can tell, besides the fever.
On Tuesday, her fever broke but she needed to stay home from school until it had been gone for 24 hours. I worked from home and started feeling sick and running a fever, too. As soon as I was done with my shift, her and I laid down and took a nap until Dave got home from work.
Wednesday, she was better so she went back to school. I wasn't feeling great, but couldn't take another day off so I came into work.
Thursday morning, Zoe's fever came back and her cough had gotten worse. We decided it was time to call the Dr. She ordered a chest xray to rule out pneumonia. Luckily, it came back negative. The Dr. said that Zoe's got a flu virus, could be swine flu - treatment is the same as any ol' flu. Rest, fluids, make her comfortable and keep her home.
She seemed to be better by Thursday night, and I seemed to be a lot worse.
Friday morning and we both seem to be feeling better, let's hope we've kicked this flu out of our house for good! Oh please, don't let Dave come down with it now.
