Happy 3rd birthday to our sweet daughter, Zoe.
We had a very sweet and small celebration at home this year with just Mommy, Daddy and Zoe. Mommy took the day off and spent a fun-filled morning and afternoon with Zoe. Daddy came home early before she got up from her nap and we surprised her with a party table, cake and presents.
She tore through the presents in about 20 minutes and then spent the next few hours opening and playing with everything. We finally convinced her that we needed to go out for birthday dinner so that we could buy batteries for her new toys. But before we could go, she wanted to eat birthday cake.
She got to choose her birthday dinner this year and all she kept asking for was chicken wings. So, away we went for chicken wings at our favorite place "Native New Yorker".
After dinner, we bought batteries and headed home for a heavy night of playing. She really loves that train! (We didn't realize that the keyboard only ran on batteries, so we'll be exchanging it for one that can plug into the wall.) She had to open everything and play with everything. It was a late night. The only thing we said no to was watching her new Wonder Pets movie from Uncle Rob and Aunt Gloria - it had just gotten too late. I'm sure that'll be the first thing she asks for in the morning, though!
Zoe's present to us... she no longer needs diapers. She decided yesterday that she was done using diapers and pull-ups and was going to start using the big potty all the time. I figured we'd have to work on it a while, but for the entire day today, she did not have an accident. Even when we were out and about, she told me she needed to go and we pulled out the port-o-potty I've been keeping in the car and she used it (even for #2!). We had to make an extra trip to Target to buy big girl underwear. She picked out Disney Princess underwear (mostly because of the mermaid).
She'll be getting Part 2 of her birthday celebration in a few weeks. My birthday present this year is a trip to San Diego Sea World and we're going to surprise her with a backstage pass to meet and greet the penguins. Can't wait!!
I've started using Shutterfly for her photo albums, there's just more offered there than Kodak Gallery. To view her complete birthday album, please click on the link below to be taken to her Shutterfly page.
