28 Months Old - November 2007

Someone told me this week that it's precious that I still refer to her in "months" old. Precious or a bit OCD, you decide.

She talks all the time... ALL the time. She carries on conversations with us and really keeps us company during the day. Here are some of her usual phrases and conversations:
"I see truck, Mom, you see truck, too?"
"It's ok, it's ok. What happen to the dog? The dog hidin?"
"Go ride horsey, now? I hold tight. Go mall, ride horsey."
"Aww, poor baby, it's ok, I gotcha"
"Shh, baby sleep-din. Wake up, baby!"
"Go see copter?" (helicopter, she's fascinated with them!)
"Oops, sorry dog. That's ok."
"You like toast, dog?"
"Here/there you go!"
"Mom, what are you doing?"
"Come on, Mom, let's go see the dog/the dad"
"brrr, it's cold outside"
"Let's go see the dirt"
"You member Dad?" (said when he's working)
"What happen, you take it away?"
"Please" "Thank you" "Sorry" "You Welc" - she's very polite and sometimes too polite and apologetic.
"Lemme see your nail" (she pretends to clip our nails by bending them backwards OUCH!)

It's almost getting too numerous to list all the things she says. I'm serious when I say she talks all the time. It's cute and sweet...

She's sleeping in her own bed, still the toddler bed. We've attached my large snoogle pillow (a pregnancy pillow that wraps around) and so far, it's helped keep her in bed. She's able to cuddle and get comfy. She usually will tell us around 8:30 "time for bed, Mommy" and lead us by the hand into her bedroom. It's been nice to tuck her in, kiss her goodnight and leave her to fall asleep on her own. Such a big girl now. She'll sleep until about 6am or so and then she's ready to start the day. Her naps range from 2-3 hours in the afternoon. I think she's growing again!
