19 Months Old

Zoe started out her 19th month being sick. Just a virus that had to run it's course. This picture is actually from 2/11/07, she just wasn't feeling up to "official" pictures on the 2nd.

New Things: Zoe's now interested in her Baby Einstein Animal video (thanks to being sick for almost a week) and calls it by it's new name "EIO", this is because during the "Animals on the Farm" portion, they sing "Old McDonald" and she sings the EIEI-O part (and then sings it over and over and over).

She's coloring more adamantly now, holding the crayon in her fist and doing some heavy-duty scribbling and doesn't like to share with Mommy or Daddy, she has to hold all the crayons. We have to keep tabs on the crayons now, too, as we found out. She must have hidden a blue crayon and later found it because we found blue scribbling on her pink chair, on some of her Little People furniture and pieces of it jammed in the Little People Ferris Wheel and car gas holes.

She's getting really good at her puzzles, and is a bit obsessive over them, you can't put them away without every piece back in it's place.

She likes to undress her baby doll and have us redress it and is obsessed with it's hat. She takes it off and then says "where hat?" over and over. She plays pretend with her dishes and little kitchen and baby doll, it's cute to watch her take her baby over to her pretend kitchen and use the faucet to wash the baby's hand while she tells the baby "it's hot". Still hasn't figured that "hot" and "wet" are two different things.

When she hurts herself, she now comes to Mommy or Daddy for us to "kiss" it, yes, I started that and love it!

She follows basic instructions like "take Mommy's socks to her dirty clothes" (hey, she's the one obsessed with my socks coming off as soon as I get home), "put your dishes in your kitchen", "let's wipe your nose", "clean your face and hands" (she also insists that her feet need cleaned after meals, too, which, if she has pasta, they DO!).

She still loves bike rides, either on her own or in her seat on mommy's bike (she babbles the entire time about kitty's and dogs and lights).

Lately, Daddy's been making pudding pies for desserts and now Zoe knows this happens after we eat dinner and informs us when it's pie time by saying "Pie?". We can get her to eat more of her meal by telling her she needs to eat a bite of whatever and then she can have a bite of pie.

Words: (Some of these words come out plain as can be, others, she attempts to say but isn't completely clear, however, since we know what she's attempting to say, it counts.) Block, ball, kitty, dog, cat, pig, horse, cow, bird, fish, mouse, duck, penguin (it mostly comes out as "P", but she definitely knows what a penguin is), it's hot, more, please, no, bike, plane, car, book, light, down (which she also uses for "up"), "ya-aight" which she says for "you all right?" (that's Mommy and Daddy's fault, we're trying to correct our pronounciations), socks, shoes, jammies, diaper, stinky, jeans, baby, hat, see, Z (I think this is for Zoe), D (for daddy), Momma, OhWow, neat, cool, I know, feet, toes, hand, hair, nose, eye, cheek, Leelee (for the dog, Lannie), boy, girl, potty, cheese, bite, coco milk (I blame Daddy for this!), pie (again, I blame Daddy), and probably a few more that I've missed.

Favorite foods: Tortilla pizza's (Daddy's invention), cheese, pears, pasta, peas (which she calls "ball"), green beans, corn, carrots (cooked or raw), rice, chicken, shrimp, raisins and craisins, yogurt, fig newtons, and pie (see above).

Favorite books: I've added this new category since she really has developed a love of books, just like her daddy. They read several times a day, especially at nap time. The Eye Book by Dr. Suess is tops on her reading list. And she likes to point out and say everything on each page. Some of her words have developed because of this book. She adores her Little Leap Pad that she got from Uncle Rob and Aunt Gloria at Christmas. She understands that she needs to push the green "go" each time she turns the page and loves to turn the pages and push everything to hear the noises and words and songs.

I think that pretty much covers Zoe at her current stage in life. Have a good February!

Love,
Zoe's Mommy
